New Caravan Club campsite in Scotland to open early

The Caravan Club's new Stonehaven Queen Elizabeth site is to open three weeks early.

The North-East Scotland site, located 15 miles south of Aberdeen, will be open for business on 14 June. 

The site provides 77 pitches for both members and non-members, and tent campers are welcome. Attractions in the Stonehaven area include an Olympic-sized, heated, open air swimming pool and paddling pool, fed by seawater, as well as fishing villages and a variety of restaurants.

A scenic beach walk to the cliffs of Dunnottar Castle is just two miles away. And for those looking for some city culture, the town's railway is part of the mainline link between Aberdeen and Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Stonehaven brings the number of Caravan Club sites in Scotland to 30. It's also the second site the Club has opened in the last year following the opening of Strathclyde Country Park Caravan Club site in October 2012.

Director of Marketing for the Caravan Club, Tony Hall, said: "The Club is always looking to add new sites to the network, and due to the increasing popularity of Scotland as a destination for so many of our members, Stonehaven is a great location that can be enjoyed by those living in Scotland and  for families wishing to explore north of the border."
