Motorhome and caravan manufacturer Adria sees sales grow by 100%

Adria, which manufacturers motorhomes, campervans and caravans, saw sales grow 100% last year despite the multiple lockdowns.

The significant growth in sales figures, which Adria describes as “nothing short of astonishing” is, says the company, down to it launching a range of completely updated models for 2021 as well as appointing a huge number of new dealers. It has appointed 16 new dealers across the UK, all of which now have demonstrator models.

Adria predicted that sales would increase and so employed additional staff at its Slovenian factory and adapted the production line to accommodate the increase. The factory has been working at full capacity during the whole pandemic other than a three-week closure earlier in 2020.

From July onwards, with strict Covid-secure measures in place, the company employed more staff, increased working hours and continued to produce models to supply the additional orders and meet the surge in demand.

Last year, Adria hosted 21 dealer roadshows over a three-month period, which it says resulted in the equivalent sales to the annual October NEC show in Birmingham, which was cancelled.

“Our dealerships opened their doors during scheduled open weekends and the events were branded as Adria Roadshows where customers were invited to view new Adria products at the earliest opportunity and in a number of different locations to try and accommodate everyone,” explains a spokesperson. “Our dealerships have also been incredibly proactive by offering video tours and video sales calls to guide customers around Adria products on display and provide a sales service regardless of doors currently being closed to the public and closed several times last year.”

Predictably considering the growing demand for campervans, Adria has likewise seen sales of its van conversion ranges grow massively. And it expects to grow further with the launch of the Twin Sports Edition, which will begin to arrive with dealerships from February/March.

“We would like to thank our customers for their support and commitment to the Adria brand,” said the spokesperson. “The launch of our new generation of caravans and motorhomes have been incredibly well received and the upgrades and improvements to our bread-and-butter ranges – Adora, Coral and Matrix – have seen a huge surge in sales. Although it may have seemed a risk implementing such changes to an already successful product range and during a pandemic, it has proven an incredibly successful decision and we are delighted with this.”
