Lowdham to import Airstreams direct as Swift focuses on core range

Two years ago Swift Group brought the eye-catching Airstream caravans back into the UK. This week, however, Swift announced they’ve decided to focus on their core brands. Lowdham, Swift’s biggest dealer, is now the Airstream’s direct UK importer.

Steve Sharpe, Managing Director at Lowdhams Leisureworld said:

“Becoming the sole Airstream dealer in the UK is very exciting for Lowdham Leisureworld. Buying new models and parts direct from the US factory will allow us to provide excellent service to existing and new Airstream customers in the UK, initially from our Nottingham branch.”

Steve added he has more announcements about their plans for the Airstream brand in the UK.

Justin Humphreys, COO of Airstream, was complimentary about Swift’s efforts at developing their UK business. He said of Swift:

“The heavy lifting of getting the brand back into this critical market has been done, and we are very excited to be partnering with Lowdham Leisureworld as we look to the future. Their knowledge and experience of importing caravans into the UK combined with their professionalism in selling and servicing products to customers directly, will serve Airstream and owners well for many years to come.”

Airstream’s ‘direct-to-dealer’ business model has worked well for them over the last 12 years in Germany. Their deal with Lowdham aims to be as successful.
