Leicestershire touring park aims to become carbon neutral

A high quality touring park in Leicestershire has begun an extensive renewable energy project, with the aim being to become totally carbon netural.
Eye Kettleby Lakes, near Melton Mowbray, has undertaken various projects to set the touring park in good stead to become carbon neutral in the future. Recently completed features include a 24-metre wind turbine which directly feeds the touring park and any additional electricity which is produced is fed back into the main grid. In addition, 300 solar panels have been erected on existing farm buildings to feed the clubhouse and holiday lodges.As part of the development which began in 2013, air source fans were added to each toilet and shower block. These fans produce 100 per cent of the energy required for heating the blocks throughout the winter months - this is extremely helpful as the touring park is open all year.
Eye Kettleby Touring Park is located four miles from Melton Mowbray, surrounded by farmland, and combines a five-star adult only touring park with seven fishing lakes. All pitches are hardstanding, with superior pitches offering full services. Facilities include individual shower rooms and a modern licenced clubhouse.
