Hymer celebrates German Design Award wins
Both the Eriba Touring and Hymer Venture S were named winners in the German Design Awards’ Excellent Product Design category
Perhaps best known for its striking design, the Eriba Touring caravan range has been around for 65 years and, with two new models for 2023 – the top-of-the-range, 8.48m-long Touring 820 and the more compact Touring 530 – its popularity doesn’t look set to wane any time soon. The Touring’s most striking design features include its aerodynamic front and unique body shape, which have stayed true to the design’s original look over the years.
The Hymer Venture S – which was also named Best Motorhome Innovation and Motorhome of the Year in our own Motorhome Awards 2023 – is another vehicle with a striking design, and one that really is the first of its kind…
Based on Hymer’s Vision Venture concept three years ago, the Venture S is remarkably close to that original concept vehicle. Built on a Sprinter 4x4 chassis cab with 18in off-road tyres, the Venture S has curved glass around the rear lounge to create an Infinity Screen, a walk-on sundeck, inflatable roof and integrated stairway, so it’s perhaps not surprising that the international judges of the German Design Awards were as taken with it as us.
