Hobby stops motorhome and caravan production
Based in northern Germany, production of all new Hobby motorhomes and caravans stopped on Sunday 22 March and staff members have been asked to stay at home.
Nobody at the factory has yet tested positive for COVID-19, but the manufacturer has responded to rules from federal and regional authorities in Germany.
Taking into account all safety measures, the logistics, warehousing and administration departments can still be contacted. “Looking after the health of our over 1,000 staff members is our top priority. That’s why we’re also rigorously implementing the official rules within our company,” says Hobby Managing Director Bernd Löher.
The company is also working with banks to help its dealers, which have had to stop many sales activities during this crisis.
Customers due to get their motorhomes and caravans damp tested in the next 30 days will get an extra 90 days (until July 2020) to get this test carried out.
Bernd Löher is positive: “The tougher we act now, the quicker we will get through this," he says. "The main thing is that we all stay healthy.”
