Hobby launches family-friendly Maxia layout

70f6da1d-ef3b-4d83-ac40-715233e3efe4

German caravan manufacturer, Hobby, has launched the new Maxia 595 KML at CMT Stuttgart

The fourth layout in Hobby’s Scandi-inspired Maxia range, the five-berth (which can be upped to seven with options) 595 KML’s standout feature is its multifunctional children’s bed concept at the rear.

With nine different potential uses and offering up to three bunk beds – each with a load-bearing capacity of up to 100kg – this multifunctional area uses a click-to-connect system with roll-up bed slats and mattresses.

The upper bunks each measure 200cm by 76cm and can be easily assembled and disassembled, while the bottom bunk is made up using three upholstered cushions and a topper to create a bed space measuring 200cm by 73cm.

A perforated back panel ensures warmth is evenly distributed at all bed levels, while the holes can also be used to mount accessories, including mesh pockets. You’ll also find LED readings lights, USB A/C ports and plenty of additional storage here, provided by shelving at the foot end of the beds.

During the day, the cushions can be converted into a seating or play area. And, when not in use, the removable ladder serves as a guard to secure luggage stored in the area, or perhaps as a cosy nook for a four-legged friend.

Christoph Semkow, Project Manager of Maxia development, says,

Multifunctional use is the fundamental idea behind the Maxia 595 KML. This caravan can be used by families for a lifetime. From the first child to the third, for when a friend comes along on holiday or when some of the kids stay at home, but the family dog joins the crew. And even without the bunk beds, the area can be used as flexible storage space. We’re working on additional components for just that – such as shelving systems that, like all of our accessories, can easily be mounted on the wall.

As well as the new children’s bed area, the adult berths in the 595 KML are also multifunctional – an optional extension can be added to the two singles at the front, turning this into a 2.0m-wide family bed.

Elsewhere in the caravan, you’ll find a mid-dining area – converting into another berth – opposite the well-equipped kitchen and wardrobe. The washroom sits at the rear, just ahead of the bunks.
