Excellence finalists announced

The Enjoy England Awards for Excellence has announced its finalists for 2007. Known as the tourism ‘Oscars’ the awards recognise tourism businesses in 12 categories, from caravan parks to visitor attractions.

Finalists in the caravan park category include Cliff House Holiday Park in Saxmundham, Greendale Farm in Rutland, Pearl Lake Leisure Park in Worcestershire, Ord House Country Park in Northumberland, Skelwith Fold Caravan Park in Cumbria, Oakdown Touring Park in Devon, Southland Camping on the Isle of Wight and Far Grange Park in Driffield, Yorkshire.

All 103 finalists have already won regional awards and must demonstrate excellent customer service, strong environmental policies and provisions for disabled guests.

“Our tourism Oscars highlight the wealth of excellent tourism product available throughout England,” said Hugh Taylor, chairman on the England Marketing Advisory Board. “ The finalists that have been chosen from the regions show a diverse range of high quality hotels, attractions, caravan holiday parks, B&Bs and other tourism businesses, proving that this really is an exciting time for English Tourism.”

The winners will be announced at the national awards ceremony held on April 18 2007.
