Cornish Park scoops Gold in regional tourism awards

A CORNISH park is celebrating after winning a Gold award for Holiday Park of the Year at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2009-2010.

The awards aim to promote and reward the leading businesses and individuals in the tourism industry and the gold accolade was won by Trethem Mill Touring Park at St Just-in-Roseland.

To win the award the park needed to demonstrate outstanding levels of customer service, exemplary facilities, have an informative and inspirational website, along with a commitment to sustainability and being accessible to all.

The Judges said: “This is an amazing park, immaculately kept grounds; the attention to detail was perfect. Beautiful floral displays and very attractive water feature. Pitch quality exceptional, facilities spotless, beautiful flowers, park is stunning.”

Proprietor Ian Akeroyd said: “We are absolutely delighted that our continued commitment and investment in the Park has been recognised. These awards have shown that we are at the forefront of our industry.”

Trethem Mill will now go on to represent the Southwest region at the National EnjoyEngland Awards for Excellence in April 2010.
