Club adds Windsor Campsite to its summer 2012 portfolio

Windsor Great Park Campsite, just a 30-minute walk from Windsor Castle, is to be operated by the Camping & Caravanning Club during summer 2012.

The Club have signed an agreement with The Crown Estate to operate the campsite from Friday 20 July to Thursday 16 August 2012. It boasts 286 pitches and will offer on-site catering. With the Olympic rowing and flat water canoeing and kayaking venue at Eton Dorney Lake only two miles away, an official Olympic Park and Ride hub will be in operation from Windsor Great Park for those with Olympic tickets.

The campsite is situated within the Windsor Estate, which includes the Great Park, The Royal Landscape comprising The Savill Garden, The Valley Gardens and Virginia Water Lake, and the Windsor and Swinley Forests. It is also adjacent to the famous Long Walk which links Windsor Castle with Snow Hill.

An open air theatre is scheduled on The Lawns in the Savill Garden for 9 and 10 August, and The Savill Garden and Building will be open daily during the Games, with special admission offers for campsite guests.

The Club's summer of 2012 portfolio already includes four event sites close to the sporting action in July and August and this latest site is a major addition.
