Cheque out these new sites

PORTUGAL has recently been added to the Touring Cheque scheme, with three new sites now welcoming the low season go-anywhere vouchers.

Launched six years ago, Touring Cheques allow you to visit any site participating in the scheme, without having to pre-book your accommodation. Portugal is the latest addition to the 12 countries that currently accept Touring Cheques.

The three new Portuguese sites include: Camping San Pedro de Moel (located on the Western coast at Costa de Prata and said to be a peaceful site shaded by pine trees); Camping Valverde (a large terraced site in the Algarve 2km from Praia de Lez); as well as Camping Quarteira (pool complex site in the Algarve, midway between Albufeira and Faro, just 600m from the beach).

Also new to the Touring Cheque scheme are two French sites: Camping La Ville Huchet - conveniently located in St Malo, Brittany, just a short distance from the ferry - and Camping La Serraz in Annecy, which is within walking distance of Dousaard Village and just 18km from Annecy town.

Touring Cheques cost £10.25 each and include one night on a pitch with electricity for two adults, together with their vehicle and accommodation. They're valid in low season only, although this depends upon the site - some are now additionally accepted in July or August.
