Caravanners Flock to Manchester Show

Is the growing cost of a foreign holiday, since the country decided to leave the EU, good news for caravan and motorhome manufacturers?

It would seem so from the visitor figures to The Caravan & Motorhome Show in Manchester this week. The organisers stated that they have had record visitor numbers to the 2017 event in the North West.

“There’s been a really great atmosphere today, with record numbers of people through the door,” said Nikki Nichol, External Communications and Sponsorship Manager at The Caravan Club.

Visitors can see caravans which range in price and luxury to suit most budgets. Not everyone can afford a £90,000 motorhome. But, anyone looking for an alternative way to holiday will see what they can afford, and what is right for their plans at the show.

The brothers who own Glossop Caravans, Brian and Stanley Laing said:

“This has been by far the busiest day we’ve ever had at The Caravan & Motorhome Show, with potential customers on the stand from 10am and we even had our first caravan sale at 11am. The stand has continued to be busy all day.”

This year the show has interesting new models and innovations. For example, there are the new, so-called 'adventure caravans'. They will suit sporty types who want to come back to comfort after a physical day out in the great outdoors.

Matt Allwright, the BBC presenter, was the celebrity at the show this week.
