Caravanning isn't just about summer fun; there are plenty of campsites open all year. So there's no excuse not to get out there and enjoy our wonderful past time all through the winter!
Whitby Goth Weekend, Yorkshire
Dark haunting music lovers, and anyone who enjoys something a bit weird, will probably like Whitby Goth Weekend, which begins on 31 October and ends on 2 November this year. People from all genres of the alternative lifestyle go along. Fashions from Steam Punk to Victorian aristocrat, to fairytale characters can be seen. Side stalls are free. The evening concerts are chargeable.
Price Weekend ticket for all concerts £63.00 + £1.50 booking fee.

Peek into the Past at Beningbrough Hall, Yorkshire
Beningbrough Hall is home to paintings from the National Portrait Gallery.
Throughout the long winter months, they’ll be highlighting the hidden stories behind some of these priceless portraits and the people in the paintings, as well as exploring the tales behind other antiques in their care.
Beningbrough Hall will also hold a torch-lit bat hunt on Friday 31 October and Saturday 1 November, from 5pm until 6pm. Booking is essential on 01904 472027. It’s suitable for anyone over the age of five. £4 per person. Normal admission applies to anyone arriving before 4.30pm.

Leeds Castle, Kent: Fireworks 'Go Wild'
Leeds Castle Fireworks ‘Go Wild’ on the 8 and 9 November, with music inspired by wild animals. Visitors arriving early can enjoy an afternoon of themed entertainment. Fireworks begin at 5.30pm.
Then on 15 and 16 November, artist Martin Grover will be doing live demonstrations to show people how he makes printed artwork of Leeds Castle.

Spooky Tours, Pumpkins and Food Markets at Burghley, Lincolnshire
There’s a lot going on at Burghley from Monday 20 October to Saturday 1 November.
Spooky Tours take you into the creepy cellars, outbuildings and cloisters in flickering torchlight. Advance booking is essential.
The Burghley Pumpkin Trail takes place from 18 October to 2 November. Find the hidden pumpkins and you’ll get a treat as a reward!
Burghley Fine Food Market takes place on 29 and 30 November. Local produce, cheeses, special breads, organic vegetables, treats and rare breed meats will be available to tantalize your tastebuds.

A Dramatic Origin Weekend at Charles Darwin’s Home in Kent
To celebrate the 155th anniversary of the publication of 'On the Origin of Species' visit Down House, Charles Darwin’s former home, on the weekend of 22 to 23 November.
There will be a theatrical debate at 11am and 2pm, recreating the famous 'Oxford Debate' between the Bishop of Oxford (Samuel Wilberforce) and Thomas Huxley. This was a pivotal moment in history and you can expect great shock and controversy! You’ll see fainting women and enjoy plenty of laughs as you're transported back to Victorian times to see what immediate impact the publication had! The performance lasts approximately 40 minutes. English Heritage apologises, but there is no wheelchair access to the performance.

- Simply Smart, a day for smart car enthusiasts, on 9 November;
- Christmas Shopping Fair from 10am to 2.30pm in the Palace House on 14 November.

Halloween, Bonfires and Alice in Wonderland at Chatsworth, Derbyshire
Halloween fun at Chatsworth House takes place from 25 October to 2 November. Bonfire and fireworks take place on 1 and 2 November.
Then for Christmas, from 8 November until 23 December, Chatsworth House will be decorated in an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme. Visitors are invited to get dressed up and enjoy the Mad Hatter’s tea party and other activities!
There will also be a Christmas market at Chatsworth from 13th to 23rd November.
Price A standard ‘House and Gardens’ ticket is Adults £18, Seniors £16, Children £10. Christmas at Chatsworth costs: Adult £20, Seniors £18, Children £11, Family £54.
