Camping & Caravanning Club opens new sites

THE Camping and Caravanning Club is continuing to provide more pitches as four new Club Sites prepare to open their doors at a time when increased interest in spending holidays under canvas or in a motorhome or caravan mean that site pitches are at a premium.

The new sites will add almost 400 extra pitches to the Club's Sites network, allowing greater accommodation for access to forests and National Parks as well as tourist attractions and inspirational locations.

The new sites scheduled to open in 2007 are:

Thetford Forest in Norfolk is situated on the edge of the forest of the same name and is a haven for wildlife. The year-round site gives visitors access to Britain's largest lowland forest and all of the activities and wildlife within it. Opening date: 1 April.

Eskdale in Cumbria is set in a stunning location and offers a camping first for the Club - a camping barn. Tent and trailer tent users will be able to tackle the dizzy heights of Scafell Pike, walk or just experience the beauty of this part of the Lake District. There's even a car to hire on-site. Opening date: 1 March.

Conkers in the National Forest, Derbyshire is another greenfield site which is being developed by the Club. Sited next to the award-winning attraction of the same name, this minimum facility site is at the heart of the forest providing the perfect location for the whole family. Opening date: Spring bank holiday.

Bellingham is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. It's on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and is right next to the Pennine Way as well as being close to Hadrian's Wall. Opening date: April 1

All new sites will provide the high standard of accommodation and facilities associated with Club Sites.
