Camping & Caravanning Club improvements

1742bb45-49c1-4b34-80ca-7c2703c5477f
Camping and Caravanning Club franchisees have been going above and beyond with their developments for campers visiting in 2010.

In addition to the £29 million the Ccub is investing in their sites over the next five years, franchisees have spent over £1 million upgrading and refreshing their sites for the benefit of their guests from this year onwards.

At Polstead, in Suffolk, Greg and Karen Baines have rebuilt their toilet block, and added a washing up area, disposal points and motorhome service point, investing over £130k to improve their already impressive site.

The Charmouth site has benefitted from a new path from the camping field down through the woods to emerge close to the shower block, particularly benefitting campers at the far end of the field. They have also created a new dog walk through the woods matching up with an existing walk, totalling a quarter of a mile.

A £100,000 investment at Hereford has meant campers can enjoy new toilets and showers, a new laundry and information room and a refurbished shop and reception area. A further twenty electric hook-ups are available, and the site is now licensed for 102 pitches.

At Skye, Nicky Sellier and David Weller have invested a further £100,000 on their new toilet and facilities block, and an electrical upgrade for the site.

Barry and Janet Payne have created additional hardstandings, drainage works and a motorhome service point at Dartmoor.

Kate and Alan Sefton at Cheddar have created a road and new hardstandings with electrical hook-ups. They have also completely redesigned their toilet block including some cool eco-friendly features such as solar panels and innovative electric and water saving mechanisms.

At Eskdale, Sara and Martyn Merckel have installed a new sewage system, while Craig and Sandra Frazer at Ravenglass have updated their toilet block with new flooring.

Barry and Carole Howard have revamped the toilet blocks with all new doors, wall coverings and floor tiles at Bellingham, as well as investing in new children’s play equipment.

And finally, the Ashbourne site have added a new children’s play frame in their playing field, which is securely fenced whilst giving parents a clear view of their children playing. They have also upgraded their stunning south facing camping field, putting in land drains and hard roads, as well as 12 extra electric hook-ups.
