Bailey launches new 2-berth caravan for 2019

22b149e0-557c-411a-83c6-9c755e852885

Bailey today announces a new addition to its top-spec Unicorn line-up.

The Bailey Unicorn Merida is a two-berth caravan with a full-width rear washroom, an offside kitchen and parallel-seating. Visitors to the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in February at the NEC.

The arrival of the Merida brings the models in the Unicorn range to 11; no other caravan range has more than 10 layouts and the Unicorn range is the only one to have more than one two-berth model.

The Merida, like all the other models in the range, is named after a Spanish town.

Equipment in all Unicorns includes:

  • Alde heating
  • AL-KO ATC automatic electronic stability control system
  • external satellite connections
  • a power point
  • gas barbecue point
  • 100-watt solar panels
  • USB sockets
  • Tracker system and alarm.

A space for your wet stuff

The Merida, though, has an extra feature it shares with only one other Unicorn (the Cadiz). The toilet hatch incorporates a large "wet locker", the ideal place to store toilet chemicals and chocks.

Inside this locker is a black plastic tray, designed for wet or muddy items like a mains cable or a small water container.

Storage is plentiful in all areas of the Merida. There's a shoe cabinet alongside the door. Under-settee storage has front access to space on the offside beside the Alde heating unit, and, on the nearside, exterior access to the storage area, as well as the ability to raise the top.

Generous shower space

The shower room has almost a metre square of floor space in the centre. The shower is on the nearside, the washbasin is in the centre and, on the offside, is a large wardrobe plus a shelved cupboard.

Good kitchen space

Kitchen storage consists of three drawers, a three-shelf cabinet and two top lockers, each of which is divided into three shelf sectors. The kitchen extends across the caravan, with the surface above the fridge and a lower surface alongside it, an ideal spot for your television.

Two drawers and a drop-down-door cabinet sit forward of the fridge. There is a cabinet above the fridge. The microwave is incorporated into this dresser arrangement.
