Approved Workshop Scheme Winners Announced

The National Caravan Council has revealed the names of the winners of its second annual Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) Awards.

Winners were selected following the results of customer satisfaction surveys and an annual assessment by an independent assessor.

These were the first AWS Awards sponsored by Truma (UK) Ltd and highlighted achievement in two categories; Approved Mobile Workshop of the Year and Approved Workshop of the Year (Fixed Base).

The Winner of the Award for Approved Mobile Workshop of the Year was Leisure Tech North East, a business established and run by Lawrence Mortimer. BC Caravan Services, run by Brian Chorlton and based in Hampshire was named as ‘runners up’.

The winner of the Award for Approved Workshop of the Year (Fixed Base) was Tilshead Caravans Ltd in Lopcombe near Salisbury. GW Caravan Services Ltd of Creswell, near Worksop, was named as ‘runners up’.

The Approved Workshop Scheme establishes an industry wide benchmark for high quality tourer and motorhome servicing and maintenance, thereby providing consumers with greater levels of protection and peace of mind.

The Scheme is a collaboration between The NCC, The Caravan Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club and is supported by all major tourer and motorhome manufacturers who permit any Approved Workshop Scheme member to undertake annual servicing without it affecting any unused warranty.

Around 300 mobile and fixed base workshops from across the UK have qualified for AWS status. John Hartley, AWS Manager says; “These awards represent a fantastic achievement by all workshops, but highlight those that have managed to attain incredibly high scores in the requisite areas, my congratulations go out to all our worthy winners, it proves the personal touch works every time”.
