Adria launches new models for 2014

Style comes first with latest range

The theme of the Adria range for 2014 is “camping in glamorous style,” and the Slovenian manufacturer says its sleek new styling and amazing, domestic-style kitchens are designed with the aim of changing the perception of caravanning to the public.

The launches come with a new design language at Adria too; it’s called i-design – integrated, innovative and intelligent.

The big changes for 2014 are in the Adora and Astella ranges, most notably in the kitchens and interior styling, which makes use of chrome and, in the Astella, leather.

Astella

The top-spec range is the Astella – undeniably the most glamorous of the three ranges. There are
two models, Rio Grande (with a fixed bed) and Amazon (with twin beds); these are the largest Adrias.

Both Adoras and Amazons have what Adria calls “sky roof windows”. These are high-arching rooflights at the front, and they can be opened. Both ranges also get a new lower kitchen storage system, of wide, deep drawers in place of cabinets.

Astellas have new front and rear walls, and chrome grab-handles which are integrated into the body shape.

Also new in both Adoras and Astellas are hobs. These have three burners, arranged in a line. In the Astella the square sink can be partly covered by a section that matches the gloss-white worktop. When you remove this cover and turn it over you can use it as a tray for coffee mugs, for example; it has two chrome handles.

Astellas now have no ceiling lights. Instead, a light is mounted on a chrome stalk anchored under the side top lockers; the stalk can be swivelled in place over the table. Both the twin beds and double beds in Astella models have lift-up backrests.

Perhaps the most “glamorous” feature in Astellas will be a BOSE sound system; this is an optional extra.
The shower room, which is across the rear in both Rio Grande and Amazon layouts, has a lot of wooden elements in the styling. And the bowl is transparent plastic, sitting up on a glossy cream surface.

Astellas are the only Adrias to have the Alde heating system; it extends to heat supplied to an exterior locker, which is within the kitchen area.

Adora

For the 2013 model year Adria changed its naming system of its caravans made for the British market. The series of numbers and letters that formerly designated each model were replaced by the names of rivers; major, globally-known rivers for the flagship Astella range; European rivers for Adoras, and British rivers for Alteas. For 2014, there will be five models in this range. The Loire will be a two-berth with end shower room; the Isonzo will have an island bed; the Rhine and the Thames will have fixed beds; the Seine will have twin beds.

All Adora models will have full-width shower rooms with the exception of the Rhine, which has a shower-toilet compartment in the offside rear corner alongside the bed.

Adoras are heated by the Truma Ultraheat blown-air system.

Altea

Alteas get fresh new graphics on their while polyester sides for 2014. The keynote of this range continues to be low weight. Bunk beds will be longer and wider. Interior styling continues to feature white surfaces, in line with the Altea range’s bright, light image.

There will be five models in the range, called Tay, Shannon, Trent, Severn and Tamar.

Alteas have the Truma Ultraheat blown air system.
Altea kitchens have three-burner hobs, with a combined oven–grill, under which is a large cabinet. The dominant colour in Altea upholstery for 2014 is pale cream; fabrics are part suede-effect.

Prices, weights and sizes of models in all three Adria ranges for 2014 are yet to be announced.
