Caravan magazine can report that the Altea family-layout caravan range from award winning Adria will have a new shape and more equipment for 2015. New soft-close drawer mechanisms and smooth-operation catches are introduced throughout the Altea, Adora and Astella ranges. Backlit kitchen wall panels arrive in Adoras.

Lower prices to celebrate 50 years of manufacture

Adora and Astella models will be reduced in price for 2015. Reductions range from £350 to £1050.
The reduced prices and the introduction of the new-style Alteas celebrate two anniversaries for Adria.

The company marks its 50th year of manufacture in 2015. And this is the 40th year in which Adrias have been on sale in Britain. All 2015 models are called Golden Edition in recognition of this anniversary.

The new range of Adria caravans for 2015

Altea range news

There will be four Altea models for 2015. Their bodyshape is new, now closely resembling that of the larger Adora and Astella models. Ambient lighting has been introduced, designed to give the impression of more space.

These Golden Edition models will have more equipment than previous Alteas, with AKS hitch-head stabilisers, Truma Ultraheat (the electric operation addition to the gas heating system), plus sink covers and removable drainers.

This brings in items that were formerly in the Altea Pack, which cost an additional £390 for 2104 models, as standard equipment for 2015.

Prices of the Altea models rise for 2015, by between £310 and £810.

There will be four Altea models. Three layouts go through to 2015.

These are the six-berth Severn 542DK (£14,190), the six-berth Tamar 552 DT (£14,390) and the island-bed Trent 552UP (£14,190).

New Altea Forth model to be launched

A fourth model, to be called the Forth (following the British river theme of the range), is to be introduced. This will be priced at £13,190; it’s Adria’s lowest priced caravan, and also the lightest, at just 1012kg MIRO and 1300kg MTPLM.
Adria Four caravan
The Forth was at the 2015 model range preview event, in July, in prototype form, called the Altea 4four.

Its overall length is 5.7m. Its body length is 4.28m. Yet in that small length, this caravan packs in the potential to sleep four people.

New slimline fridge

This is the first caravan in the Adria range to have Thetford’s new slimline, tall fridge. It’s just 41.8cm wide (compared with conventional Thetford fridges at 52cm), and 1.5m tall. Its capacity is 140 litres, with a 15-litre freezer.

The Forth’s kitchen is at the rear, with an in-line three-burner hob. A slim wardrobe is in the nearside corner alongside the kitchen.

A dresser-style unit with a deep drawer and a television bracket is just to the rear of the entrance door.

Beds for four in just four metres!

The really amazing feature of this small caravan is the bed arrangement. The lounge is U-shaped. It can be used as two single beds, or a double, or as a four-berth; a bunk rises from the nearside wall to turn the nearside seating area into bunk beds for two, with the double bed alongside it.

A special edition, Signature version, of the Altea Forth will be launched in Britain at the October NEC show (14 to 19 October); its European launch will be at the Caravan Salon at Düsseldorf (30 August to 7 September).

Lighting has been integrated into the bases of all the head-height lockers in Alteas. Pale grey brushed steel panels bordered by white are illuminated by strips of LED lights; Adria tells us the design is created to make the lockers look as if they are floating, giving the illusion that the caravan is larger than it is.

Adria Altea Severn caravan kitchenSeven-berth option

The Severn and Tamar models are both six-berths, with two bunk beds. An option to have this unit changed to create three bunks is to be available, making both these caravans seven-berths.

The Severn’s bunks are on the offside, with a seating area that converts into two more bunks opposite. The shower-toilet room is amidships.

The Tamar also has bunks on the nearside; in this model, a dining area forward of the bunks makes into two more beds. The shower room is in the rear nearside corner.

The Trent has an island bed with its headboard against the rear wall. The toilet-shower room is on the offside.

The Tay (fixed bed) and Shannon (rear two-seater dining area making bunks) models are discontinued for 2015.

Adora range

The five Adora models go into 2015 with unchanged layouts. There are two changes, though: Kitchen walls will have back-lit splashback panels. Drawers and cabinets will have a new soft-close mechanism with new catches designed to make opening them easier.

Prices are reduced across the range. The twin-bed Seine 612 DL will be priced at £750 less that its 2014 figure, at £17,690.

The Rhine 612 DT, with a longitudinally-aligned bed and corner shower-toilet room, will be £18,290; reduced by £350.

The Thames 613 UT, with a fixed bed and full-width end shower room, goes down by £950, to £18,390.

The two-berth Loire 432 DT goes down by £1050 to £16,190.

The transverse island bed Isonzo 613 DT, which Caravan magazine awarded Caravan of the Year title for 2014, goes down by £750 to £17,690.

Adoras now have as standard the items which were formerly included in the £650 Adora Pack. These are alloy wheels, additional ambient lighting, an AL-KO Secure wheel lock receiver, carpets, a drainer and a sink cover.

Both the Adora and Altea models have Truma blown air heating systems. Astellas have the Alde heating system.

Astella range

The two Astella models also go down in price; both the twin-bed Amazon 613HT and fixed-bed Rio Grande 613 HP are reduced by £990, to £23,590.

Astellas will have the AL-KO ATC stability control system, carpets, a spare wheel and alloy wheels. These items were formerly included in the Astella Pack, for which there was an extra charge of £1090.
