The Leicester branch of The Caravan Company relocated and expanded into Northampton this year, with an increased range of products.

10 best caravan accessory dealersIt’s a pleasant, browsing environment and staff say that they stock or can obtain every caravanning item you’d ever need including gas fittings and taps.

Caravans range from less than £5000 up to about £20,000. Also, unusually for an accessory shop, it sells used accessories and awnings, the latter ranging from about £150 to £800.

You can buy a tested mains cable for £15 (the new equivalent here is £29.99). When we visited in July there was an AL-KO Secure wheel lock for £100 (£250 new) plus other hitch and wheel locks from £30 to £50. There’s a wide range of new security devices, too.

A good range of essentials are on show including cleaning equipment and toilet chemicals including the Caravan Company’s own brand.

While browsing we found an item that had only just arrived on the market – an £8.50 simple grip device, called a Cable Wraptor, for holding a rolled-up mains cable; we liked it so much we bought one!

This store has just introduced a new means of selling items via the internet; to date, 100 of the shop’s most popular items are on eBay and 330 items are on Amazon.
