Crossways Caravan & Camping Park

4408e91e-7814-41cc-9d99-e928e52c4d84
AS a base for exploring North Norfolk and the delights of the surrounding market towns (or the city of Norwich, which is a half-hour drive away), Crossways has a great location. It's also easy to access thanks to its proximity to the A148.

As you enter the site you'll pass the village shop and this stocks everything you're likely to need while on site. It also has a post office.

Although there's no restaurant on site, this doesn't matter as across the road from the site is the village pub, the Green Man, which is said to serve excellent food. The wonderfully-named village of Little Snoring itself is unusual in having its own airfield (hence the propeller symbol on the sign) which was built during the war for the RAF and is now in private use.

The site itself is quiet and peaceful, offering 26 pitches of which seven are on hardstandings. All of them have electric hook-ups of 16 amp capacity. The grassed pitches are grouped together in their own field and are suitable for motorhomes, caravans and tents.

Facilities include a toilet and shower block, together with a laundry room that features washing machines, clothes drying lines and ironing equipment. There are also ample water points and a chemical disposal point. Unusually, the site also boasts a health suite, which offers a sauna, jacuzzi and sunbed.

Also on site in a separate area are holiday homes, which are available for hire and ideal if extra people intend to join you on holiday.

Off site there are many attractions in the surrounding area with the city of Norwich being 25 miles away. Here you'll find a gothic cathedral, a restored Victorian garden and a wide range of shops. The site is also close to Fakenham itself which is famed for its racecourse - head here if you fancy a flutter on the horses.

Being so close to the coast is another big appeal of this site and makes it handy for exploring the underrated North Norfolk coastline. From delights of 'sunny Hunny' in the east to the pretty small coastal villages of Holme, Brancaster and Blakeney there are plenty of places where you'll find great seafood on offer. Cley Smokehouse on the High Street at Cley is said to be a must (try the smoked prawns).

There are many great beaches just a short drive away, too, with Brancaster and Holkham both being nearby. Parking is available here, too. While you're at Holkham it's well worth visiting the hall. There are also many marshland nature reserves to explore, including the Cley Marshes Visitor Centre.
