Top Campsites for Open Water Canoeing

087c5ca0-484d-4a8a-a378-3add16b7af4d

Recommending places to get out on the open water in a canoe is easy as there is so much variety available that the list could be endless. Three of our favourite places include Scotland, the Norfolk Broads and the Lake District. These areas offer a vast array of UK campsites where you can easily access the waters, whether that be directly from site or within a few miles. Take a look at the places and campsites below for some inspiration and head off on your paddling adventures...

Scotland

For real adventures and paddling experiences in an unspoilt environment then it has to be Scotland. The scenery is stunning and the wildlife is varied. Whether you’re looking to find a little peace and quiet, or for a fantastic family adventure, the Great Glen Canoe Trail delivers in spades. Another Scottish option is the beautiful River Tweed. Rising in the Scottish Borders the Tweed is home to some spectacular canoe touring and steeped in history along its length.
