We're celebrating the Best of Britain, with 10 of the UK's finest camping spots, from Northern Scotland to Cornwall.

Follow the links to find out more about each destination, including must-see attractions and great campsites.

YORKSHIRE COAST

Superb beaches, traditional seaside resorts and quaint villages all combine to give a superb destination for a weekend stay or longer holiday.

And the campsites don’t disappoint either, with you being able to choose between pitching your tent on a basic farm, maybe close to the moors, or using an all singing, all dancing top quality site with every facility.

LAKE DISTRICT

The Lake District is the outdoor capital of England, with millions of visitors every year.

And all things considered, it really is hard to find fault with the area as a camping destination.

It offers something for everyone, from solo backpackers to families on a summer holiday, which is why millions of us visit the area every year.

NORTH CORNWALL

What makes North Cornwall so special? Is it the sea and the sand, the surfing, the dramatic coastal walks and the pretty fishing harbours?

Or is it the countryside, the picturesque villages and the great food? Well it’s all of them of course.

Cornwall is as popular now as it’s ever been, particularly for campers.

NORTH NORFOLK

The northern coast of Norfolk boasts miles of unspoilt coastline, beautiful countryside, forests and heathland as well as nature reserves, birdwatching, walking and cycling.

Many visitors come to the county for the tranquillity of Norfolk Broads, but the North Norfolk coastline is truly a campers’ paradise, with numerous superb campsites along the seafront and further inland.

PEAK DISTRICT

Wedged between the cities of Manchester, Derby and Sheffield, the Peak District is an outdoor playground for more than 15 million people.

The Peak District National Park - Britain’s first – covers over 500 square miles, most of which lie within Derbyshire.

It’s a paradise for lovers of the outdoors and there are loads of campsites in the area to base yourself.

NORTH WEST HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND

Towering mountains, atmospheric glens and magnificent beaches attract visitors to the north-west of Scotland from all over the world. Sandy beaches abound and the water has a clarity you often associate more with the tropics than the United Kingdom.

It’s certainly a long way to travel to reach this idyllic part of Scotland, but when you get here you’ll know it was worth it.

SOUTH WEST SCOTLAND

It's one of Britain's best kept secrets, but the Galloway coastline boasts sandy beaches, rocky coves and quaint fishing villages that Cornwall would be proud of.

Inland, the Galloway Hills provide a stiff challenge to hill-walkers and there are hundreds of square miles of forestry and gently rolling countryside where walkers and cycling enthusiasts can clock up the miles.

SNOWDONIA COAST

From Conwy in the north to the Dyfi estuary in the south, Snowdonia boasts 200 miles of glorious coastline.

You’ll find secluded bays, sheltered harbours and vast open beaches.

This is a popular spot for campers and a great base to explore the whole area.

PEMBROKESHIRE

Pembrokeshire in the south-west of Wales is home to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and a superb location to find stunning (and often hidden), award-winning beaches.

The coastline boasts many bays and inlets and consists of a series of peninsulas that all have spectacular cliffs and hidden beaches.

GIANT'S CAUSEWAY

Giant’s Causeway is a World Heritage Site and geological marvel on the Antrim coastline in Northern Ireland, made up of more than 40,000 polygonal columns of layered basalt that resulted from a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago.

Myth and legend say it was carved from the coast by a giant  to use as stepping stones to Scotland, so he didn’t get his feet wet.
