Thousands of music fans pitch up at Wychwood Festival

The Camping team was out and about at the weekend as we celebrated The Big Pitch at the Wychwood Festival.

Ten of us pitched up alongside thousands of music fans at Cheltenham Racecourse for what is billed as one of Britain's best family festivals.

And it didn't disappoint. There were great main stage performances from the likes of The Charlatans and The Waterboys - not to mention CBeebies star Justin Fletcher, aka Mr Tumble.

Many of the up-and-coming acts on the BBC's Introducing stage were impressive and one member of the team, who shall remain nameless, is still raving about Sunday's performance by West Country favourites The Wurzels.

As well as the live acts, the late night headphone disco was a big hit and there was plenty on offer throughout the weekend for kids of all ages. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere on the campsites just added to the enjoyment.

The weather wasn't quite as brilliant as hoped but Sunday's rain failed to dampen the mood and there was enough sunshine to leave a couple of the Camping team looking rather pink-faced in the office this morning!

The festival coincided with the Camping and Caravanning Club's Big Pitch, part of National Camping and Caravanning Week. The event was aimed at persuading as many people as possible to go camping on Saturday night - even if it was just in their back garden.

We've posted some pictures of our weekend at Wychwood on the gallery section of the website here and you can log in to add your own photos, whether you were at the festival or did something else to mark the Big Pitch.
