The New Forest - one big adventure playground

7fc5779a-204b-47b9-b717-065097e9c945
With a National Trust survey revealing that one third of today's children have never climbed a tree, and 10 per cent can't ride a bike, it's time to get back outdoors and enjoy nature's own playground in the New Forest.

Celebrations of Great British nostalgia have been a timely reminder of what makes the best childhood memories. Simple pleasures make long-lasting treasures in terms of what we remember when we grow up – and holidays are the perfect time to make them.

The stunning New Forest with its endless woods to play in and wide open beaches makes the perfect playground. You can escape to some great family-friendly holiday parks and then discover the great outdoors and have some fun - building dens in the woods, roaming free with the wildlife, playing on rope swings and crossing streams on stepping stones, hunting for bugs, cycling, walking, having a picnic, or crabbing on the coast. It’s a world away from being stuck in the car with only a DVD or computer game for entertainment!

To help put together your perfect stay and win a free break, the New Forest has just launched My Perfect New Forest Day. The online campaign will allow you to create your dream day by choosing where to stay and eat, what to see and do and enter your perfect New Forest day in a competition with the chance to make it reality. To enter, ‘like’ the New Forest Facebook page and follow the steps to choose your perfect day.

Use our Campsite Finder to search for your perfect campsite to enjoy a New Forest holiday. We have some fantastic Premier Parks in the area for that touch of luxury, and The Camping & Caravanning Club's Camping in the Forest sites have a back to nature feel.
