Tent named outdoor product of the year

A tent that gives you a 360 degree view of the outside world has been named outdoor product of the year for 2012.Fjällräven’s new Akka View landed the top prize at the prestigious Novel awards at the annual Outdoor Trade Show. It also came top in the tent category.
The winners in the eight categories were chosen by a panel of expert industry judges, including Camping editor Iain Duff.

The two-berth tent’s design makes it quick and easy to pitch and, once up, can be easily moved in order to find the perfect spot. Ventilation openings are placed high on both sides of the tent for improved airflow and inside the tent the inner walls are constructed using black mesh.
The tent will sell for £395.
