The top award in the 2014 AA Caravan and Campsite awards has gone to Polmanter Touring Park in St Ives, Cornwall. This highly-rated park won the Best Campsite in England and the overall Best Campsite awards, presented at a ceremony in Bristol yesterday (25 March 2014).

The site is run by Phill and Becki Osborne, the third generation of the family to run Polmanter. The judges praised the professional and courteous staff, ultra-modern toilet facilities, and immaculately-maintained grounds of the campsite, which is also a member of the prestigious Premier Parks group.

Expressing his delight at the award, Phill Osborne said; “We always listen to our customers and think hard about what they would like. Our team takes great pride in the site and we are really pleased that the high standards that they help us to achieve have been rewarded.”

Fields End Water, another Premier Park, was named AA Regional Campsite of the Year for the Heart of England.

Several other members of the Premier Parks group were awarded one of the AA’s new Gold Pennants, which recognise campsites which score exceptionally high ratings. These include Wooda Farm Holiday Park in Cornwall, Plassey Leisure Park in Wrexham, The Old Oaks near Glastonbury in Somerset, Padstow Touring Park, Cornwall, Exe Valley Caravan Site, Somerset, Whitefield Forest Touring Park on the Isle of Wight, and Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park, Somerset.
