The public will be able to vote on which new bands will appear at one of the UK's most popular music festivals.Music fans have the chance to help decide on the emerging talent that will play on the BBC Introducing stage at the family-friendly Wychwood Festival 2012.
For the first time, members of the public will be able to vote on their favourite bands from a shortlist of 70 via their facebook profile.
Presenters from BBC Radio Gloucestershire and the six surrounding regions, including BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio Oxford, BBC Radio Wiltshire and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire have each submitted 10 emerging acts that they are currently championing on their station.
These bands are now available to listen to via a BBC Introducing tab on the Wychwood facebook profile. The public will have a say along with industry figures like BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and Wychwood Festival director Graeme Merifield in who makes up the final line-up of 28 bands.
Among the main stage bands already confirmed for the 2012 festival, which is backed by Camping magazine, are James, Bellowhead and the Damned.
