Millets launch appeal for old tents

IF you are one of the thousands of people thinking of buying a new tent this summer, don’t chuck out your old one; take it with you to your local Millets store and they will donate it to World Emergency Relief – helping to provide shelter for poor children across the world.

If this were not incentive enough, Millets will also give you 20 per cent off the price of a new tent – whatever your old tent’s condition. Millet’s Tent Exchange runs until the end of September 2009 and they are want to receive thousands of old tents.

Millets has teamed up with World Emergency Relief – an international relief and development organisation that helps to protect children, often in places where no one else can help, or dares to go. Your old tent could help to save the life of a child by providing protection from harsh weather conditions over a critical period.

So don’t just let your old tent rot in the cupboard. Take it down to Millets and put it to use. As well as saving you money, it could improve the life of a child in desperate need and it may even save their life.
