Inflatable tents could 'revolutionise' camping

The ongoing quest to make life easier for campers continues with the launch of a new range of inflatable tents.
Traditional poles have been discarded in favour of a system of blow-up beams – meaning the tents can be put up by one person in a few minutes.
Tent specialists Vango claim their new AirBeam range will change the face of camping by taking the hassle out of setting up on site.
The tents are pitched by pegging down the four corners, then pumping up the inflatable beams, before securing the guy lines.
According to Vango, even the biggest tent in the range can be set up in less than five minutes.
They come with their own pump and a puncture repair kit in addition to the usual range of features found in a ‘normal’ tent.
Vango have spent 15 years perfecting the technology and hope it will encourage newcomers to embrace camping as well as revolutionising the experience for traditional campers.
The company said: “The tents will appeal to new and seasoned campers alike as the advanced ‘no poles’ structure can be pitched on your own if needed and offer a fantastic camping solution for those who may have found pitching a tent difficult in the past.”
Vango say they have tested the tents in extreme weather conditions to ensure safety and stability and the inflatable tubes are made of robust material to prevent them from over-inflating.
The tents, which can be pre-ordered now, are available in two styles.
The Velocity comes as a two, three or four person model costing between £235 and £415. The Infinity is available in four, six or eight berth versions and comes in at between £490 and £760.
