Get camping as summer heatwave continues

f88ef583-f0be-41c4-8fa9-1e43062570be
Britain's heatwave is here to stay for at least two more weeks as the country enjoys its longest spell of scorching temperatures for seven years.

The mercury is expected to break the 30C mark in part of Britain again - making it the most prolonged period of hot weather since a 14-day stretch in 2006.

And with no sign of the 'barbecue summer' abating, campers are flocking to sites to take advantgage of the sunshine. Shares in package holiday firms have slumped ahead of the start of the English school holidays amid fears that holidaymakers will stay at home instead of going abroad for good weather. Shares in Thomson and First Choice owner Tui Travel fell as much as 4.5% before closing 2.9% lower at 365.5p and Thomas Cook slid 2.1% to 142.6p, after earlier losing as much as 3%.

With forecasters predicting the heatwave will continue until the end of July at least, beaches are likely to be packed again this weekend. Camping's guide to Britain's Top 20 beaches should be able to provide you with some inspiration on where to go.

There's nothing better in the hot weather than a spot of outdoor cooking, especially on the campsite. But rather than relying on boring bangers and burgers why not try something more adventurous? Our guide to barbecue cooking should give you some ideas.

Remember in the hot weather you'll need to take extra steps to keep your food fresh on site.
