GB girls go glamping

Britain's women volleyball team celebrated the first anniversary of their Olympic exploits by indulging in a spot of glamping.
The Team GB squad enjoyed a week together at the newly launched Camp Katur Glamping Village on the outskirts of Ripon, North Yorkshire.Volleyball was off the agenda as the 16 players stayed in posh yurts and enjoyed the site's luxury facilities and activities, including zorbing, aerial extreme, segways and the eco spa.
Team GB won their first ever match at the 2012 Games and team member Jennifer Taylor said: "This year we wanted to mark our achievements and take time out to sit and spend time with each other as it was the first time in 12 months that we have all been able to get together.
"Ironically we didn’t play any volleyball; instead we took advantage of the wide open spaces and played 6 games of rounders before collapsing in the outdoor hot tub. It really felt like the place was our own and for someone who is not a traditional camper I was shocked and surprised with how luxurious it was. I’m now a converted Glamper and we’re already looking to book next year!”
Camp Katur is set within the 250-acre Camp Hill Estate. Prices start from £14 per person per night for glamping accommodation and from £5 per person per night for traditional camping.
