Club lowers campsite costs for 2014

Responding to what it calls a 'highly competitive environment', the Camping and Caravanning Club has reduced 2014 pitch fees on many of its 100+ campsites across the UK.
It has also made it easier to compare prices by putting them on an insert in the 2014 edition of its guide book, Your Place in the Country.
Online booking for the 2014 season opens in early November for club members, and in January for non-members, via the club's website. About a third of the sites have lowered prices for adult members in high- and mid-season, and about half in low season.
Rather fewer have lowered family prices, although the club now guarantees that children will always be charged at half the adult cost. The new simplified structure also includes a 25% discount for Age Concession members in selected seasons, but at the same time the Age Concession threshold is raised from 55 years to 60. Further simplifications include a blanket 30-day cancellation policy and the introduction of a new 'great value' stamp logo.
The club says it has introduced its new tariff in response to recent economic uncertainty and unpredictable weather.
