The Camping and Caravanning Club has teamed up with Elddis to launch the 2012 Alternative Decathlon online campaign, giving anyone who enters the chance to win an Elddis touring caravan up to the value of £15,000 along with many more prizes for runners up.The winner of the main prize will be able to choose a layout from a selection of two, four, five and six berth models in the Elddis range. The package will also include an SE Pack (including a BPW Winterhoff stiliser, alloy wheels, door flyscreen, spare wheel and carrier) and delivery via an approved Elddis retailer along with a full handover.
All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is upload your own alternative decathlon images and answer a simple question at friendlyclubgames.co.uk. The 10 alternative decathlon events and the Club's interpretations are as follows:
• Weightlifting "Lifting your child up in the air while spending quality time in the great outdoors, or carrying your washing up across to the dish washing area are just two of our interpretations of weightlifting."
• Individual pursuit "Enjoying the pleasures of your own company for a relaxing outdoor experience."
• Freestyle "The freedom to run and jump as you like in the outdoors! An invigorating feeling!"
• Hurdles "Climbing over a stile during a long walk in the woods, or negotiating the guide ropes of tents on site."
• Beam "The biggest smile!"
• Relay "Last one to bed is a rotten egg! Using tooth paste as batons, striding to the toilets to give your teeth a good clean."
• 'Discuss' "Spend quality chatting with friends and family."
• Butterfly "Natural delights from Mother Nature."
• Backstroke "Just being part of the family – giving the family dog a stroke in the sunshine.
• Parallel 'baas' "Sheep in a field! Who knows what you’ll meet in the great outdoors!"
Other supporters and sponsors of the campaign, who have also provided some substantial prizes, include: Merlin Entertainments Group, RAC, Hi-Tec Sports, The Monster Factory, Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, Gulliver’s Theme Parks, Carefree Travel Service, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Exclusive Lodges, the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry as well as several of the Club’s Franchise Sites (Eskdale, Bellingham, Cheddar, Thetford Forest, Dartmoor Barley Meadow and Ravenglass).
