Campsites warned over unanswered calls

Hundreds of campers are being left frustrated because sites are failing to answer their phones, it has been claimed.
Almost half the calls made to sites around Britain went unanswered, according to a survey.
It found 42 per cent of phone enquiries did not get a response - with more than half of those not even diverting to voicemail.
All the calls were made during working hours in April, traditionally one of the busiest times for bookings.
And sites were warned they risked losing out on customers, who could go elsewhere if their enquiries went unanswered.
The survey was carried out by online booking service Campingninja.com, who made 2,054 enquries to campsites in England, Wales and Scotland.
It found 877 calls made between 9.30am and 4.30pm went unanswered, and of those 538 did not go to voicemail.
Campingninja director Rhian Evans said: "Campsite operators need to find a way to ensure they make the most of their powerful niche in this domestic tourism market and improve their customer service experience and all-round visibility."
Campingninja is a search and booking platform that brings together campsites, caravan and holiday parks across Britain.
Customers can search for sites by facilities and location before making their selection and booking.
